RiverWood is Jackson Village’s “newest” old inn. Built in 1880 - the same time as Jackson’s famous Covered Bridge - it has been a part of the Hawthorne Inn and Jackson’s history ever since. Most recently called the Village House, RiverWood is under new ownership, has undergone a total rejuvenation, and has been furnished with antiques and décor borrowing on French Provincial themes.

When heading into town, we are just across the covered bridge on your left, and we are ideally located within walking distance to the Village restaurants, shops, and the Jackson Ski Touring Center.

We’re located in a stunning natural setting on five acres of rolling woodland, and bordered by the confluence of the Wildcat and Ellis Rivers. Walking trails and the Jackson XC trails meander across the property allowing our guests to hike and ski right from our doorsteps down the Covered Bridge trail.

Experience the understated luxury of our Inn, where the wilderness of the Wildcat Wild Scenic River Reservation and the sophistication of Jackson Village abide side by side.

Originally a part of the old Hawthorne Inn, which burned down in the seventies, the current RiverWood Inn was an annex to the original Inn. It housed staff and workers, and was constructed in the 1880’s; just about the same time as Jackson’s covered bridge.

For a period of years after the fire destroyed the Inn, the property was a home to horses. There’s a galloping horse weathervane atop the gazebo! Some of the paddock fences still exist and define the trails down to the Wildcat and Ellis Rivers, and over to the Ski Touring Center. From our doorsteps you can access the trails. READ MORE...
